Robert Earl Wilson, 86, of Franklin, passed away on July 24, 2014.
Born in Vine Grove, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Benjamin Earl Wilson and Lera Varine Martin Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Stephen and a brother, Harold Wilson. Bob was a US Air Force veteran of WWII; former President of the merchants division of the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce; former President of the Christian Businessman’s Committee and was an active member of First Alliance Church. He owned Wilson’s Music Manor in West Palm Beach, Florida till 1976 at which time he went to work for Champman Industries as Vice President of Low Cost Housing Building Systems through his retirement in 1990. After retirement he moved to Franklin where he worked part time at Lowes as a cabinet designer.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hazel Young Wilson; two children, Tim Wilson of Branson, MO and Lera Hesselbirg and husband Mike of Franklin; sister, Doris Dozier of Radcliff, KY; brother, Leon Wilson of Radcliff, KY; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at First Alliance Church. Rev. Scott Eichelberger will officiate.
