Donald Gary Houston, 65, of Highlands, passed away, Thursday, September 22, 2016.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Donald Gordon Houston and Mary Elizabeth Rogers Houston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Floyd Houston. Gary worked as a masonry contractor and was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and taxidermy.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patty Genco Houston; daughter, Robin Chavez of Franklin; son, David Leffler of Highlands; three brothers, Robert Houston of SC, Jimmy Houston of Highlands and Wiley Houston of Franklin; four sisters, Shirley Murphy of OH, Betty Henry of Highlands, Kathy McConnell of Franklin and Donna Houston of Highlands; two grandsons, Nicholas Parparian of Franklin and Hunter Leffler of Highlands and one great grandson, Walker Leffler of Highlands.
Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 29, at Highlands United Methodist Church. Rev. Dan Lyons, Rev. Jennifer Forrester and Rev. Randy Lucas will officiate. A reception will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Macon Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
