Obituary for Eleanor Lewis

Eleanor Lewis, 83, of Franklin, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. Nichols, Sr. and Effie P. Carpenter Nichols. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Lewis; son, Terry Lee “Baldy” Quesenberry; sisters, Rosa Lee Nichols and an infant sister; brothers, Allen R. Nichols and Fred L. Nichols, Jr. She was a member of Maiden’s Chapel Methodist Church. Eleanor was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening and travel.

She is survived by a son, Bobby Lewis of Highlands and two sisters, Belva Edwards of Franklin and Annie “Georgia” Zachary of Columbia, W.VA; two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Kenan Lewis and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at time 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Paul Christy will officiate. Burial will be in the Maiden’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorial donations can be made to the Maiden’s Chapel UMC Cemetery Fund, C/O Belva Edwards, 1081 Jones Creek Rd, Franklin, NC 28734.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Lewis, Kenan Lewis, Chuck Nichols, Santi Frias, James Guffey and Brian Waldroop.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
