Obituary for Walter Taylor

Walter Gray Taylor, 75, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016.

Born in Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Gray Eugene Taylor and Annie Mary Harbin Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Thomas Taylor; sister, Sue Simmons and a granddaughter, Lauren Gray Taylor. Walter was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. He worked with the audio visual team at the church and played for their softball team as well as the “The Old Bones” senior softball team.

He is survived by a wife of 55 years, Brenda; sons, David Taylor (Bonnie) of Roswell, Ga, Kent of Springfield, VA; sister, Ruth Tally (Johnnie) of Lewisville, NC; grandchildren, Erin Taylor (fiancée, Lance Jones) and Christopher Taylor (fiancée, Coryn Rodgers); and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 12 at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Donnie Seagle and Rev. Brandon Breedlove will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 11 at Macon Funeral Home.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to Holly Springs Baptist Church for the Audio Visual Ministry or KIDS Place, P.O. Box 693, Franklin, NC 28744.
