Helen “Bertilee” Pendergrass, 72, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2015.

Born in Macon Co, she was the daughter of the late Harvey R. Barnes and Charlotte Tilson Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Nicklos “Nick” Pendergrass; one brother, Charles Barnes and one sister, Anna Lee Barnes. Bertilee was a member of Community Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, James Clifton Pendergrass; her daughter, Cliftney Sterling and husband Jesse of Franklin; her son, Jeff Pendergrass and wife Joy of Franklin; one brother, Thomas Barnes of Franklin; three sisters, Ella Rebecca Barnes of Woodbridge, VA, Edith Victorine of Tallahassee, FL and Eloise Bryson of Franklin; four grandsons, Brian Sterling, Tyler Pendergrass, Jarrett Sterling and Evan Sterling and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Alan Waters and Rev. Tommy Holden will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
