Josephine Elizabeth Davis, 79, of Franklin, North Carolina, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 in her home. She was born in Trevilians, Virginia on June 29, 1936 to her parents, the late Thomas Alfred Campbell and Virginia Elizabeth Turner Campbell Mann. She was first married to Jerry Fritz Yount who passed away in 1959 and then married to Doerr Wendell Davis for 55 years who survives. She was preceded in death by her son Douglas Jerry Yount in 2014 and her two brothers, Walter Campbell and Charles "Lindy" Campbell. In addition to her husband, Jo is survived by her two daughters, Anita Jo Hardin (Mike) and Jo Elizabeth Henson of Eustis, Florida; brother, John Campbell (Anne) of Tavares, Florida; four grandchildren, Christopher Hardin and Justin Branton (Kelli) of Eustis, Florida, Taylor Elizabeth Yucha (Jeff) of Henderson, Nevada, and Montana Jo Henson of Eustis, Florida; three great-grandchildren, Isabelle and Jacob Yucha and Peyton Branton.
Jo owned and operated Triangle Moving and Storage and then Raintree Books from 1960 until her retirement in 2001. During her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, spending time with her family, and was an active member in the Asbury United Methodist Church.
She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will forever be in the hearts of many.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 21, 2015 at 11:00am at Asbury United Methodist Church in Otto, North Carolina. Rev. Kelly Dotson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angel Hospice at 170 Church Street, Franklin, NC 28734.
