Obituary for Johnny H. Greenwood

Johnny H.   Greenwood
Johnny H. Greenwood, 85, of Franklin, passed away Friday, March 6, 2015.

Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Albert Greenwood and Hattie V. Jones Greenwood. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Mason. Johnny was a talented musician; he enjoyed playing his guitar at church. He was an active member of Franklin Church of God. Johnny was the most kind, loving and gentle husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His love for God, his family and friends was unsurpassed and will be fondly remembered by those who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Belva Kell Greenwood; son, James Greenwood and wife Kathy of Franklin; two grandchildren, Jared Greenwood and wife Jennifer, Jami Sanders; three great grandchildren, McCall Sanders, McKayla Sanders and Brayden Greenwood ; two brothers, Charles Greenwood and Frank Greenwood both of Washington and sister, Nancy Stiwinter of Franklin.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 8th at Franklin Church of God. Reverends Clark Sheffield, Thurman Jenkins and Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Jared Greenwood, Stephen Hummell, Stan Hummell, Brian Southard, Zack Cook, Tommy Greenwood, Ronnie Stiwinter and Mike Kell. Phillip Cochran, Adam Newson, Robert Dryman, Hank Conner, David Hastings, Lee Wright, Johnnie Nations, Gene Moore, James Rogers, Alan Taylor, Donald Bates, Jason Smith and David Powell will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Franklin Church of God Building Fund, PO Box 717, Franklin, NC 28744.
