Obituary for James "Jim" Parrish

James "Jim"  Parrish
James “Jim” H. Parrish, 78, of Franklin passed away Monday, May 14, 2018.

Born in Macon County he was the son of the late Terrell H. Parrish and Elba Marie Liner Parrish. Jim was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard; owner of DeSoto Trail Realty, Trucking, and Construction; and was a member of Iotla Baptist Church. He enjoyed his work, family, and was an avid NASCAR racing fan.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Styles Parrish; daughter Jamie Holland and husband Donald of Franklin; son Todd J. Parrish of Franklin; brother William “Bill” Parrish of Franklin; granddaughter Cortney Patrick and husband Josh; grandson Matthew Holland; two great-grandchildren Coleman Patrick and Griffin Patrick; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018 in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves and Rev. Brandon Breedlove will officiate. Burial will be in the Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Holland, Josh Patrick, Wayne Lynch, Tommy Jenkins, Randy Jones, Jackie Boone, Randy Taylor, and William Shannon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Bell, Bud Shope, Lamar Sprinkle, and Tom Bishop.

Memorial donations can be made to the Iotla Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
