Obituary for Gene Lewis Hultgreen

Gene Lewis Hultgreen, 82, of Franklin, went to be with the Lord Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Born in Michigan City, IN, February 16, 1936 to Dora and Lewis C. Hultgreen. He attended school at Delray beach Elementary and Seacrest High School in Delray Beach, FL after moving to Florida in 1946. He became a State Trooper for the Florida Highway Patrol in 1961 after serving two years as a Delray City Police Officer. After retiring from the Highway Patrol, he worked at several departments in Florida State Government, ending his work years as an inspector for the Florida Dept. of State in 1998. Upon coming to Franklin, he was active in the Senior Games and later, the Macon Republican Party, as well as a charter member of the FOP. He was acting deacon in his church in Florida and has been an attending member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church here in Franklin. Gene enjoyed woodworking, reading and most importantly, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Roberts Hultgreen; son, Thomas Lewis Hultgreen (Marian) of Oviedo, FL; sister, Connie Shriver (Richard) of Cumming, GA; two grandchildren, Sarah Hultgreen (Ricardo Blanco) and Cody Lewis Hultgreen (Susie); one great-granddaughter, Henleigh Hultgreen; nephew, Robert Kelley (Joan) and niece, Tammy Merrihew (John) and numerous great nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service was held on Friday, May 25th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home.
