Obituary for Jay P. Lattimer

Jay P. Lattimer, 68, of Franklin, N.C. passed away Thursday March 29, 2018.
Born in Wausau, WI, he was the son of the late Edwin H. Lattimer and Beata Sell Lattimer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, Thomas & Judd Lattimer.
He graduated from Northland College, Ashland, WI. He spent his career as a salesman in the sporting goods industry. His passion was hunting and fishing and he fulfilled his dream when he moved to Alaska. There he guided hunting and fishing expeditions and also sold commercial fishing vessels and permits. Later he moved to south Florida where he did commercial property management before retiring to the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains of NC.
He loved people, had a great sense of humor, and no one ever went away a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debra Fechtner Lattimer, a sister Lynn Tappan of Navarre, FL, several nieces and nephews, his special dog Marlee, and many friends.
A gathering of friends will be held on Thursday May 17th from 5-7 p.m. at Patton United Methodist Fellowship Hall, 112 Patton Church Road.
