Obituary for Ruby Mae Wilson Bishop

Ruby Mae Wilson   Bishop
Ruby Mae Wilson Bishop, 88, of Sylva, passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018.

Born in Jackson Co, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Wilson and Charlotte Johnson Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Quenton Bishop; daughter, Clydas Bishop Guffey; son-in law, Tom Guffey and six brothers and sisters, Leo, Andy, Dock and Lloyd Wilson, Minnie Ridley and Mary Hartness. Ruby was an active member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, teaching Sunday school, served as church clerk and Bible School. She loved ceramics, sewing, reading and watching wild life.

She is survived by her son, Larry Bishop (Frances) of Franklin; daughter, Nancy Young (Jason) of Oak Island, NC; one granddaughter, Julia McDowell-Grigg (Thomas) of Boiling Spring Lakes, NC; one great grandson, Jacob McDowell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 25th at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie Stillwell, Rev. Mark Bishop, Rev. Roy Lowe and Rev. Wesley Price will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24th at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John Robert Morgan, Brayden McMahan, Tom Hooks, Jake McDowell and Scottie Bishop and Drew Hooks.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark McDowell, Sam McMahan, Charles Bishop, Alvin Johnson and Mitchell Bishop.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Zion Hill Cemetery Fund.

Arrangements are being handled by Macon Funeral Home.
