Obituary for Bobby Joe Houston

Bobby Joe  Houston
Bobby Joe Houston, 78, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018.

Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late Claude T. Houston and Ida Mae Brown Houston. Bobby was a US Air Force veteran. He was a member of Sugarfork Baptist Church, former member of the Junaluskee Lodge #145, member of the Jaycees and coached basketball at Cullasaja Elementary School for many years. He loved to hunt, fish, garden and bake pies and cakes.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judith Crisp Houston; two children, James “Jimmy” Houston and wife Kim of Pace, FL and Sherry Pangle and husband Frank of Franklin; four grandchildren, Jason Pangle and wife Autumn, Luke Pangle and wife Lauren, Enana Jenkins and husband Howie and Kelly Meadows and husband Andrew; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 6th at Sugarfork Baptist Church. Rev. Gene Hawkins and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate with military honors conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 5th at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Gary Taylor, Harold Crisp, Clyde McCall, Aaron Holland, Bill Allen, Joe Williams and Butch Deal.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
