Obituary for Burrell Jackson Giddens

Burrell Jackson Giddens, 100, of Franklin, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018.
Born in Plainfield, GA, he was the son of the late Burrell Jackson Giddens and Nellie McConnell Giddens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilu Watkins Giddens and brother, Aubrey Giddens. Jack was a US Navy veteran and served during WWII. Before joining the military, he worked as a butcher and later worked as an air traffic controller for the FAA. Jack enjoyed square dancing and was a “caller”. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by three children, Cheryl Kay Schrock and husband Larry of Franklin, Paulette Hunt of Indian Harbour Beach, FL and Jack Giddens and wife Debbie of Richmond Hill, GA; sister, Hilda Pruitt of Decatur, GA; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 10th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jack Jarrett will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30-11, prior to the service at the funeral home.
