Obituary for Charles "Mark" Marcus Dowdle

Charles Marcus “Mark” Dowdle, 79, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Franklin, he was the son of the late Joe and Margaret Hall Dowdle. Mark attended NC State and served in the US Army, 101st Airborne Division. He was a dairy farmer, worked in construction, school maintenance and HVAC owner. He loved country music and buck dancing. Mark was a member of Union United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Dowdle; four daughters, Jennifer Rogers and husband Rick, Cindy Stamey and Keith Brooks, Ginger “Muffin” Anderson and Maggie Southard and husband Chuck all of Franklin; grandchildren, David and Cody Rogers, Tyler Stamey and wife Alison and the late Coleman Stamey, Chelsea, Nick and Brett Anderson, Carrie and Allison Southard and Carly Gerber and husband Tanner; great granddaughter, Rylee Rogers; sister, Carolyn Pattillo and a niece and nephew.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 7th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Andy Cloer will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Grandsons and Rocky Pattillo will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
