Obituary for Edward Arthur Godman Jr.

Edward Arthur   Godman  Jr.
Edward Arthur Godman, Jr. 69, of Topton, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017.

Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Edward and Edna Volkman Godman. Edward was a US Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion Post 108, an avid Ho Train collector and enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Family was the most important thing in Edward’s life. He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Andrews, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Godman; two sons, Donald E. Godman and wife Denise of Baltimore, MD and David L. Godman and wife Kara of Baltimore, MD; one daughter, Jane Bostic and husband Wilford of Martinsburg, WV; one sister, Ellen L. Hoffman and husband Robert of Millsboro, DE; five grandchildren, Juliana, Daniel, Maxwell, Charlie and Copeland and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 2nd in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. The Reverend Volley Hanson will officiate with full military rites conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Macon County Veteran’s Memorial Park, PO Box 474, Franklin, NC 28744.
