Obituary for Perry Shuler

Perry  Shuler
Perry B. Shuler, 93, of Franklin, passed away at his residence, Friday, August 25, 2017.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Jesse Shuler and Addie Mae Guffey Shuler. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Doug Keith Shuler who died September 5, 2000; a son-in-law, Lloyd Barnwell and eleven brothers and sisters. Perry was a US Marine Corp veteran of the Korean Conflict and US Navy veteran of WWII; retired from General Motors; an active member of Sugarfork Baptist Church where he served as greeter, and served on the building and grounds committee, cemetery committee, and Veterans committee.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorena Dalton Shuler; four children, Janet Bradley (Donald) of Madison, GA, Yvonne Barnwell of Hendersonville, NC, Sandy Guinn of Surfside, SC and Susan Shuler of Franklin; ten grandchildren, Chad Shuler, Derik Shuler, Dalton Shuler, Heather Jackson, Hannah Bradley, Tiffany Barnwell, Brittany Barnwell, Shuler Guinn, Lera Guinn and Courtney Shuler; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 28, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Charles Stevens and Rev. Gene Hawkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW Post 7339 and the American Legion Post 108.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Monday, prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Derik Shuler, Dalton Shuler, Charles Shuler, Zachary Ledford, Shuler Guinn and Tony Shuler.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ross Jackson and Paul Shuler.
