Obituary for Nellie Dillard (Franks)

Nellie  Dillard (Franks)
Nellie Dillard 96, of the Pumpkintown Community, passed away on Tuesday June 20th. She was the wife of the late Charlie Dillard and the daughter of the late Mack and Dolly Franks.

Mrs. Dillard was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and she enjoyed flowers, gardening, quilting, and cooking.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Bobby; two sons, David and Johnny; son-in-law, Charles Estes; one sister, Charlotte Cope; and two brothers, J.D. and Manuel Franks.

She is survived by two sons, Earl (Shirley) and Eugene (Mary); one daughter, Annie Estes; six grandchildren, Kathy (Darrin) Holland, Deborah Estes, Kevin Dillard, Gloria (Thomas) Butler, Pamela (Michael) Shepherd, Sherry (Dustin) Williamson; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Ellen Higdon. Also surviving are two special nieces, Bonnie Carnes and Rachel Woodard; one special nephew, Edward Cope; as well as a number of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 25th at 3:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Steve Webb officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening June 24th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Appalachian Funeral Services. Burial will be in the Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
