Obituary for William Owen Dills

William Owen  Dills
William Owen Dills, 80, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2017.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Frank and Helen Watts Dills. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving four years before beginning his career as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for John D. Stephens Pipeline, Atlanta, GA for 20 years before retiring and returning to Franklin in 2011. Owen enjoyed his yard, growing and sharing his garden and his special hobby was restoring antique autos.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gladys Beck Dills; daughter, Dana “Dee Dee” Nalband and husband Bruce of Atlanta, GA.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Albert Grey will officiate. Burial will be in the Old Savannah Cemetery in Sylva.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday at Macon Funeral Home.
