Obituary for Robert "Buck" Wesley Buchanan

Robert Wesley “Buck” Buchanan, 82, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017.

Born in Spruce Pine, NC, on August 8, 1934; he was the son of the late Sherman J. Buchanan and Azolean Young Buchanan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Kyle Buchanan; two brothers, R.J. Buchanan and Hartsell Buchanan and one sister, Iva Lee Hensley. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Dayco where he worked as a supervisor.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy Christiansen Buchanan; son, David Buchanan of Franklin; beloved granddaughter, Shyann Buchanan of Franklin; step children, Mark Wilson and wife Kerry of Lexington, NC, Susan Wilson of Galveston, TX and Julie Wilson of Franklin; one brother, Charles Ray Buchanan and wife Nancy of Smyrna, TN; one sister, Ezulia Buchanan McCall and husband Frank of Franklin and several nieces and nephews.
