Obituary for Denver Edward Brooks

Denver Edward Brooks, 62, of Franklin, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017.

Born in Swain Co, NC, he was the son of Myrtle Nations Brooks of Franklin and the late Rev. James Paul Brooks. Denver loved spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed woodworking and small construction projects. Denver was a member of Franklin Church of God.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 42 years, Edith Sorrells Brooks; two children, Jamie Brooks and wife Michelle and Melanie Allen and husband Tony both of Franklin; two brothers, Cecil Brooks of Franklin and Winfred Brooks of Bryson City; one sister, Earlene Nations of Franklin; four grandchildren, Trevor Rogers, Owen Brooks and Alex and Logan Allen and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21st at Franklin Church of God. Rev. John Nations, Rev. Phillip Cochran, Rev. Michael Stephens and Crystal Brooks Crupi will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Monday, March 20th at Franklin Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Cecil Brooks, Winfred Brooks, Roger Brooks, Tyler Nations, Rev. Bobby Brooks, Jeremy Brooks, Tim Nichols and Kevin Watson.
