Obituary for Robert Wayne Queen
Robert Wayne Queen, 65, of Franklin, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017.
Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Fred Wilson Queen and Ruth Houston Queen. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Paul, Kenneth, Jimmy and Loyd and sisters, Judy Henry and Lou Anne Stockton and father-in-law, Jack Stamey. Wayne was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Diane Stamey Queen; three children, Christopher Queen (Amy), Derald Queen (Crystal) and Chelsie Queen (Levi Devito); three sisters, Joyce Crowe of Franklin and Connie Bradley of Sylva and Janet Roberson of Buford, NC; two brothers, Brent Queen of Franklin and Danny Queen of Lexington, NC; five grandchildren, Dustin Queen, Gracie Queen Bethany Queen, Brylee Thomason and Maizy Toney; mother-in-law, Florence Stamey and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 6, at Macon Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 7th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Don Moffitt and Rev. Kevin Chapman will officiate. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cody Mathis, Jamey Mathis, Derald Queen, Levi Devito, Jamie Morgan and Jeff Southards. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tommy Stockton, Willard Southards, Stan Southards, Kurt McCall, Derald Watts, Dick Godell and Herman Elkins.
Memorial donations can be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church.
