Obituary for Anthony "Tony" Yuzzi Sr.

Anthony Yuzzi, Sr., 88, of Franklin, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017.

Tony was born and raised in Flushing, NY to the late Nicholas and Marie Josephine Yuzzi. He was a US Army veteran and served during the Korean conflict; after his service, he joined his parents in Huntington Station, NY. He met his wife Alice Ivers Yuzzi on L.I. and they celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2016.
Tony was well known for his achievements and love of electronics, including ham radio. He and his family moved to Franklin in 1972, making many friends especially with members at St. Francis Church. He loved traveling to Maine; visiting Alice’s family there. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Nicholas Jr.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Anthony Yuzzi Jr. of Franklin and Steven M. Yuzzi of Maggie Valley, NC; two grandsons, Austin Yuzzi of Westville, FL and Nicholas Yuzzi of Franklin; one granddaughter, Lauren Yuzzi of Waynesville, NC; two great grandchildren Emma and Cole of Franklin and one step grandson, Adam Viens of Knoxville; and sister-in law, Jean Yuzzi of Florida.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 24th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Father Tien Duong will officiate with military rites conducted by VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108. Burial will be in Rangeley Cemetery in Rangeley, Maine.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23rd at Macon Funeral Home.
