Obituary for Arley Eugene Henderson

Arley Eugene  Henderson
Arley Eugene Henderson, 86, of Franklin, passed away Friday, January 13, 2017.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Glen Henderson and Mable Dills Henderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jake and Sammy and two sisters, Helen Tallent and Glenda Cook. Arley was an auto body technician and a member of Iotla Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish and make a garden. He was well known for his tomatoes and sweet potatoes and sharing them with his friends. Arley loved his family and his wife’s family dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Geraldine Lee Henderson; son, Vic Henderson and wife Diane of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Teresa Ammons and husband Kenny of Franklin; four grandchildren, Melissa Ammons, Addie Murphy, David Henderson and Zachary Ammons; one great grandson, Mason Murphy; several nieces and nephews and special nephew, Randy Lee.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 16, at Iotla Baptist Church. Rev. David Burch and Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Monday, at the church.

Pallbearers will be Tim Lee, Bobby Peek, David Henderson, Lee Sitton, Noah Sitton, Kenny Ammons, Jerry Tallent and Mike Tallent.
