Bobby “Mike” Michael Waldroop, 62, of Franklin, passed away Monday, November 7, 2016.

Born in Franklin, he was the son of the late George Bob Waldroop and Cora McCall MacMurray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Sanders and two brothers, Tommy Waldroop and Jeffrey MacMurray, brother-in law, Dilbert Simonds. Mike loved bluegrass music and spending time with friends and family. He was Methodist by faith. “We will hold him in our hearts until we can hold him again in Heaven.”

He is survived by one brother, Danny (Sandy) Waldroop of Franklin; one sister, Joyce Simonds of Bryson City, NC; brother-in law, Bruce Sanders of Franklin; one niece, Amy Simonds of Bryson City; two nephews, Allen and Christopher Waldroop both of Franklin; special friend, Brittney Watson and several great nieces, great nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 9th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. David Lee Williams will officiate. Burial will be in the Maiden’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Justice, Craig Awtrey, Gavin Awtrey, Chris Waldroop, Allen Waldroop and Mitch Waldroop.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bruce Sanders and Maddox, Maveric and Mace Waldroop.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to one’s favorite charity.
