Obituary for Charles David Moody Sr.

Charles David Moody, Sr., 77, of Franklin, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Born in Haywood County, NC, he was the son of the late Ben Blaine Moody and Florence Fie Moody. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James “Robin” Moody and William “Fine Man” Moody and a sister, Betty Marie Lovedahl. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran and a telephone contractor and construction worker for many years. He attended Riverside Fellowship Church and enjoyed restoring mustangs.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Joyce Cabe Moody; three children, Teresa Moody and husband Bob Hussey, Michele Bryson and husband Billy both of Franklin and Charles David Moody, Jr. and wife Alisa of Kernersville, NC; brother, Robert “Head Man” Moody of Maggie Valley, NC; sister, Mattie Sue “Lady” Hughes of Maggie Valley, NC; six grandchildren, Miranda Marshall, Sarah Hussey, Lydia Moody, Camile Moody, Eden Moody and Johnathan Bryson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 27 in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Wayne Price and Rev. Bobby Cloer will officiate. Interment will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park, Waynesville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 26 at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Pettus, Brian Moody, Bob Hussey, Scott Hughes, Kyle Marshall and Billy Bryson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Bryson, Richard Young, Mack Stanfield, Furman Ledford and John Holland.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
