Condolences

Condolence From: Geoffrey Baker
Condolence: I met Stu through the Barkley. He posed for my before and after portrait series. The next year I got in the race. I reached out to Stu for advice on everything Barkley and boy did he give it! Often times metaphysical, I found his advice spot on. In short order we became friends. I loved reading his posts to the Barkley list. You could tell his mind was set at warp speed. What a great laugh and smile. He will be missed.

Condolence: Stuart loved his precious "katz" and lived for the ultra marathons. We will miss his brilliant mind, his arguments and his steadfast friendship. Rest in peace, dear Stu.

Condolence: max axly was magic.

He was brilliant and funny in so many incredible and varied ways.

I like to think of him on a celestial porch somewhere, surveying the now unfolded mysteries of time and space, occasionally laughing in delight and astonishment. And perhaps bemusedly shaking his head and thinking, "What a fool I've been!"

We should all be such fools.

Love ya,man. Go in peace.

Condolence: I am happy and fortunate to have had Stu as a friend. He was a very intelligent, erudite, and generous man. He helped me experience some of the real Barkley. His loss is a sadness shared by many, many in the ultrarunning community and elsewhere.

Condolence: I was so sorry to hear of Stu's passing. Although I did not know him personally, I knew of him through the Barkley Marathons, The Barkley Fall Classic and his hilarious commentary in the documentary.
He was a Barkley icon and will be missed.

Condolence: My condolences to Stuart's family and friends. The definition of a friend is one who will always be there when needed, even if he would rather not be. Stuart was, truly, a great friend to me.
