Condolences

Condolence From: Dr. Tommy Quaid
Condolence: Please accept my sincere condolences at Tommy's passing. He is one of the funniest people I've ever known. He, Bobby LeBlanc and I were good friends at Lake Charles High School (LA) 1958-1962. Although we lost track of each other through the the years, his name will undoubtedly always bring an immediate smile to all who knew him with his incredible sense of humor, kindness, courage and considerable athletic skills. The stories about Stoker in those years are legend, and we are honored to have been part of many of them (most of which cannot be repeated). Part of his immortality will be in those smiles and laughter we all hold so dear. Rest in peace, old buddy.

Condolence: I am heart broken to hear of your passing, I will always remember you as Uncle Tommy. You and Patty were like parents to me. I have so many memories of fishing with you and Vince, I know you guys are together laughing, fishing and watching over me. I remembered asking advice about becoming a police officer as young man, it wasn't until later in life that I did it, as I am about to embark on my own journey with MDPD, I hope to make you proud. My condolences to Patty and the Stoker Family. Until we meet again. Rest In Peace.

Condolence: I was Tommy's field training officer when he first started in Central District. Years later, he was on my squad at Miami International Airport. He was a terrific police officer and fun to be around. We will miss him.

Condolence From: Ron Simpson
Condolence: I have known Tom for forty years. I met him when I was in high school while he worked Station 6, Uniform Patrol. He gave me advice for my law enforcement career, which led me to college, where we ended up in the same class together. Well, we spent more time in the bar across the street!
I will always remember his red short shorts and high tube socks with his eyelids flipped back. Typical Stoker humor. However, he could never get one up on me.
One time I was working Drug Interdiction doing surveillance on Haulover Cut. I spotted him in his boat and advised the units that we had a target going southbound. The units stopped him and boarded his vessel and then gave him a hard time. Shortly thereafter, they advised him that Ron Simpson said hello. He got on the radio and cursed me out. He always tried to get me back! I could just go on and on with the memories.
I am going to miss him! RIP Brother!

Condolence: I am broken hearted to hear of the passing of Tommy Stoker.
Tommy had that rare gift of touching the lives of the people that knew him; he was a superb friend, an awesome police officer and most importantly a great human being.

As Marcus Tullius Cicero once said,“The life given us,by nature is short; but the memory of a well-spent life is eternal.”

Tommy did indeed lived a well-spent life and he will be lovingly remembered by his many friends; rest in peace Tommy, till we meet again.

Condolence: Tommy and I started working Crime Scene the same day in January of 1982. He would always keep you laughing, rolling his eyes and removing his teeth, what a hoot. I hadn't seen him in several years, but I've often thought about him and wondered how he was doing. I know he is in peace now and may god bless him.

Condolence: Tommy was my partner in Crime Scene in many calls. His constant humor and joking made tedious and sad investigations more bearable. He would make me and Tech Dolly Ballard laugh until tearing. I would ask him sometimes in certain investigations if he needed his atomizer, he would answer nahh, my lungs already expanded when we walked in. He was caring and always joyful making working alongside him a much more pleasant endeavor. I was going to contact last week a friend in Franklin to find out if she knew him or maybe locate him for me as I travel to Cherokee quite often, I am so sorry I did not do it, I am so sorry he has gone home to the Lord. I will see him again sometime, hope he does not blow graphite powder on my wings, they will turn black. Luv ya Tommy, Rest in the Peace of our Lord. I will miss you.
