John Daniel Wilson, 76, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Herman Wilson and Gaynell Duvall Pendergrass. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Pendergrass and two sisters, Jane Dickard and Ann Ledford. John was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was an avid sportsman, enjoying fishing, hunting and trapping.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maxine Donkelaar Wilson; three children, Darren Mitchell Wilson of Washington, Penny Whiting (Antonio) of Louisville, KY and Scott Donkelaar of Mt. Vernon, Washington; three brothers, Bruce Wilson, Charles Pendergrass and Roger Pendergrass all of Franklin; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, July 16, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Dusek and Rev. Guy Duvall will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from one hour prior to the service at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Jim Fouts, George Wyatt, George Lynch, Mitchell Owenby, Ray James, Chris Pendergrass, Derick Pendergrass and Wyatt Pendergrass.
