Paul John "Jay"  Takach
Paul John “Jay” Takach, 82, of Franklin, died Sunday, April 3, 2016 at his home.

Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Paul Takach and Marie Mihalovic Takach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Wallworth. Paul lived in Miami, FL for many years and moved to Franklin, NC 30 years ago. He served in the US Army during the Korean War; was a distinguished past president of Ives Estates Optimist Club, North Miami Beach, FL; recognized by Optimist International from 1970-1984 for years of service to his community.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Glenda Takach; two sons, Joe Takach (Paul) of Cooper City, FL and Paul John Takach of Miami, FL, two daughters, Pam Goins (Glenn) of Davie, FL and Grace Phillips (Maurice) of Franklin, NC; two step sons, Jon Balcom of Florida and George Balcom (Luann) of Florida; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be private.

The family would also like to thank extended family, friends and Four Seasons Hospice for their love and care during this time.
