Florence May Turgeon, 84, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Hiram Chalk and Mary Purchase Chalk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Turgeon and a brother, Tim Chalk. Florence worked for McKesson and Robbins and later worked for Walmart. She received her certification in Evangelism from Truett McConnell College and was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in Toccoa, GA. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and needle point, making many beautiful quilts and afghans for her family.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Alfred James Turgeon; four children, Diane Shaw of Statesville, NC; David Turgeon (Barbara) of Gulfport, MS; Deborah Hastings (Sam) of Franklin, NC; and Cynthia Patrick (Alan) of Martin, GA; two sisters, Ruth Cotton of Caro, MI and Martha Buhrie of St. Clare Shores, MI; brother, Phillip Chalk of Michigan; twelve grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Franklin Church of God. Rev. David Hastings, Rev. Michael Stephens, Rev. Jerry Chitwood and Rev. Dennis Rafala will officiate. Graveside Service will be at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Toccoa Cemetery, Toccoa, GA.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Monday, July 13, at Franklin Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Scott Turgeon, Mike Turgeon, Tony Turgeon, Michael Turgeon, Daniel Scott and David Turgeon II.
