Obituary for Peggy "Momzie" Zachary (Talley)
Peggy Talley “Momzie” Zachary, 70, of Franklin, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, May 27, 2015.
She was the best mother and grandmother, and was a beloved member of East Franklin Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Roger Zachary; her parents, Carter and Christine Talley and a brother, Bobby Joe Talley. She is survived by the love of her life, her son, Tubby Zachary and wife Jo; her grandchildren, Callie Bowman and husband Stephen, Tami McClure and husband Mark and Bo Cunningham and wife Courtney; great grandchildren, Robbie and Cassie McMahan, Tucker, Elly Rae and “Pickle” Bowman and Tyler Cunningham; one brother, Jim Talley and wife Lorraine and sister-in laws, Sandy Talley Collins, Jessie Manley, June Zachary, Frances Zachary and Elizabeth Swafford. She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends that Peggy loved dearly.
Peggy loved life and her new found social media. She would not miss a day checking and responding to the needs and cares of her many friends on Facebook. Her smile never faded and she was always the encourager; never complaining. She gave her love and her life ‘til the very last breath. To know Peggy was to love her.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Enloe, Rev. Scott Mathews and Rev. Andy Cloer will officiate. Burial will be in Highlands Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 p.m. Friday, May 29th at Macon Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Spencer Munger, Joey Gibson, Terry Henry, James Manley, Bruce Wooten, Chris Houston and Michael Chastain.
Members of the Cullasaja Gorge Fire and Rescue will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to East Franklin Baptist Church, C/O Gene Mitchell, 74 Coon Creek Road, Franklin, NC 28734.
Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
