Arthur “Art” Eugene Carter, Jr., 86, of Otto, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

Born in York, PA, he was the son of the late Arthur “Pete” Eugene Carter, Sr. and Esther Britcher Carter Swartz. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, William Martin Carter, Arthur E. Carter, III and Baby Boy Carter; two brothers, Donald and Jack Carter and step brother, David Swartz. Arthur was a US Army veteran; serving during the Korean Era. He was retired from Mayfield Trucking. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club; he delivered Meals on Wheels, volunteered at the Humane Society Thrift Store and worked part-time at the Job Corps.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia “Pat” Humer Carter; daughter, Vickie Carter Tallent of Otto, NC; sister, Marlene Carter Eppley and husband Robert of Reisterstown, MD; two grandchildren, Donald Kostelec and wife Carrie of Asheville, NC and B R Tallent and wife Michelle of Otto; six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many cousins including a special cousin, Kay Grim Gable of York, PA.

Interment at Mt Harmony Gardens, Mableton, GA, at a later date.
