Norman Irving Cope, 88, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.

Born in Largo, FL, he was the son of the late Irvin Cope and Mary Myrtle Lane Cope. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothea Senne, Ruby Stoner and Mary Shoas. Norman was a US Army veteran; serving during WWII with Occupation Forces and during the Korean conflict as well. He loved home remodeling, traveling in his Airstream, working around his yard and playing the guitar; he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Norman was a lifelong member of Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Cope; nine children, Norman “Wendell” Cope and wife Belinda of Hampshire, TN, Janice Maestri and husband Tim of Port St. Joe, FL, Thomas Dale Cope of Invernes, FL, James Cope and wife Christi of Hampshire, TN, Judith Diane Squires and husband Don of Live Oak, FL, John Cope and wife Lori of Porter, TX, Andrew Joseph Cope and wife Cindi of Franklin, Suzanne Nicholson and husband Jeff of Greenville, MI and Dawna Stallings and husband Chuck of Cullowhee, NC; fifteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren also survive.

A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14th in Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. Radford Penland will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Church of Christ.
