Obituary for Annie B Welch (Huggins)

Annie  B  Welch (Huggins)
Annie Huggins Welch, 89, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015, after a period of declining health.

A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Reba Parrish Huggins. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that loved gardening, sewing and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Glenn Welch; daughter, Gail Welch; two sisters, Christine Welch and Laura Jean Stidham; two brothers, Bill and Rass Huggins.

She is survived by sons, Gerald Welch and wife Faye of Tennessee, Douglas Welch and wife Sheila; daughters, Sharon Bowes and husband Robert and Janet Neal and husband Keith all of Franklin; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Nadine Denny of Cookville, TN, Carol Lee Mehta and husband Jimi, Wanda Fouts and husband Guy of Franklin and Betty Sue Harper of Huntsville, AL and brother, Mitchell Huggins of Franklin and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her caregivers, Tava Welch, Debbie LeFevre and Shirley Bradley.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 2nd in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2:00 p.m. Monday, March 2nd, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Meyers, Julian Crowe, Kameron Jones, Mitchell Owenby, Bryan Welch and Brandon Welch.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Burningtown Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, C/O Eddie Simonds, 279 Edwards Rd, Franklin, NC 28734.
