Obituary for Dorothy Dix Ashe (Daves)

Dorothy Dix Daves Ashe, 97, of Franklin, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Daves and Maddie Angel Daves. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Ashe. Dorothy retired from LBJ where she worked in medical records. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school, a member of the Extension Homemakers Club and the Community Development Club. Dorothy loved working in her garden.

She is survived by three sons, Lewis Ashe and wife Wanda, Tom Ashe and wife Emily and Jim Ashe and wife Alisa, all of Franklin; twelve grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 14, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Radford Penland will officiate. Burial will be in the Clarks Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at Macon Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Ashe, Alan Ashe, Brandon Ashe, Clark Shope, Bernard Huggins, Bud Talley, Jerry Sutton, Bobby Carver and Eddie Long.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Clarks Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
