Edward "Pete" Cleveland  Woodard
Edward “Pete” Cleveland Woodard, 74, of Candler, went to be in God’s care on Monday, November 24, 2014.
Born in Macon Co, he was the son of the late William Robert Woodard and Nina Brooks Woodard Peek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Tina Sue “Susie” Bolton; brothers, Joseph Garrell Woodard and Jackson Earl Woodard and sister, Shirley Guyer. He was a heavy equipment operator and loved building roads.
He is survived by three children, Stephen Woodard of Summersville, WV, Becky Woodard of Ravenswood, WV and Debbie Hester of Richmond, KY; four granddaughters, Courtney Akers, C’ierra Buchanan, Sabrina Woodard and Madison Woodard; great granddaughter, Jaelynn Akers; brother, William Hoyt Woodard of Candler and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 29th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Reeves will officiate. Burial will be in the Riverview Methodist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Barry Woodard, Hoyt Woodard, Ronnie Vanhook, Rodney Vanhook, Eddie Brooks and Winifred Brooks.
Memorial donations can be made to Mountain View Manor Alzheimer’s Unit, PO Box 2344 Bryson City, NC 28713, C/O Helen Cookston.
