Mary Belle Ledford Hodgin, 81, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Harley Ledford and Nellie Watts Ledford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Danny “Red” Hodgin; grandson, Matthew Hodgin; brothers, James, John and Glenn Ledford and sisters, Bessie Ledford, Kate Speed, Irene Ledford and Betty Daniel. She was a member of Gillespie Chapel Methodist Church. She retired from Belden and enjoyed cooking and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Odell Hodgin; two sons, Wayne Hodgin and Wife Ruby and Clifford Hodgin and wife Kathy both of Franklin; three daughters, Diane Johnson and husband R.V. of Sylva, Lynne Gregory and husband Terry and Cathy Williams and husband Roger both of Franklin; brother, Bob Ledford of Royston, GA and sister, Linda Ledford of Danielsville, GA; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 7th in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Cloer, Rev. Eddie Stillwell and Rev. Cale Stancil will officiate. Burial will be in Hodgin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Hodgin, Casey Hodgin, Justin Hodgin, Josh Gregory, Dylan Cabe, Eddie Daniel, Jon Moore and Timmy Ledford.

Macon Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
