Obituary for Hattie L. Shope (Woods)

Hattie L. Shope, 93, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014.

Born in Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Andy and Sarah McDowell Woods. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Shope who passed away in 1997; sisters, Bertha Holden, Pearl Moses, Annie Lee Sickler and Lou Ellen Darnell; brothers, Furman Woods and Charles Woods and son-in law, Sammy Bolick who passed away in 1982. Hattie was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Stockton and husband, Tom; four grandchildren, Tony Bolick and wife Wanda, Tabatha Sanchez, Boe Stockton and wife Patty and Sean Stockton; seven great grandchildren, Amber Bolick, Nicole Jenkins, Autumn Phillips, Hunter Sanchez, Chris Stockton, Dillon Stockton and Thomas Stockton; and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Revs. Bud Haire, Alton Dendy, Tom Nahlen and Danny Prince will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Mark Zimmerman, Eddie Downs, Hunter Sanchez, Chris Stockton, Thomas Stockton and Dillon Stockton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Mabe, Mike Holden, Daniel Bolick, Steve Keener, Andy Holden and Shirley Houston.
