Obituary for Patrick "Pat" Gregory

Patrick “Pat” Abran Gregory, 84, of Cornelia, GA, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014.

Born in Macon County, he was the son of the late Lewis Gregory and Maude Holland Gregory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and J.L. and sister, Dorthena Holland. Pat was a US Army veteran, worked with Fieldale Farms, and attended The Torch in Cornelia. He could play most any stringed instrument and enjoyed singing.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Rogers Gregory; daughter, Phyllis Mason of Franklin; four sons, Patrick Gregory, Jr. and wife Rosa of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Darrell Gregory and wife Connie of Franklin, NC, Marvin Gregory of Cornelia, GA and Shane Gregory and wife Stacey of Cleveland, GA; brother, Milles Gregory of Franklin; six grandchildren, Shelly Marion, Theresa Wolfe, Jessica Meeks, Ashley Gregory, Robert Dingus and Cieara Gregory and three great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, in the Chapel of Macon Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Dryman, Rev. Mark Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in the Wright Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Angel, Jim Bell, Gary Holland, Randy Holland, Larry Angel and Johnny Pendergrass.

Memorial donations can be made to the United Hospice of Gainesville, 700 S. Enota Dr. NE # 202, Gainesville, GA 30501.
